Astonishingly people believe that ” In this ‘gender-neutral’ trend, we are running the risk of losing gender identity completely.” I can’t see that this is even a risk. Assuming for amoment that it is a risk, does it matter? No point expending much energy debating this non-issue.
In an otherwise great piece the author expresses that “Strict gender segregation in clothing, toys and activities is a relatively recent phenomenon. When I was a child in the 1980s, everyone wore OshKosh dungarees and built with blocks.”
While clearly opinion, I think the evidence will show that gender segregation has been around much longer and that perhaps dungarees were near the beginning of a larger trend toward gender neutrality.
Either way it is an interesting experiment that is likely to have a positive impact on society.
