Pope expresses concern over secularism and atheism.
In a society increasingly marked by secularism and threatened by atheism, we run the risk of living as if God did not exist.
While the pope does not explain what the result of that threat is, or to whom this is a threat, the subsequent words relate to anti semitism.
The pope highlights that acts of violence and hatred of the faithful must be condemned everywhere. Firstly I do not believe it follows that atheism leads to anti-semitism. And secondly acts of violence and hated should be roundly condemned irrespective of faith or lack of faith.
